Horse Passports

The current legislation relating to horse passports means it is a legal requirement for every horse, pony, donkey etc. in Great Britain to be issued with a passport by an authorised Passport Issuing Organisation.  It is against the law to sell a horse without a passport.

Weatherbys ID Passports has been issuing passports for equines since 2004 and to date has issued over 64000 identity passports.

It is also a legal requirement to register ownership with the Passport Issuing Organisation within 30 days of acquiring a horse. This also applies for Thoroughbred and Non-Thoroughbred Register horses which are not subject to an ownership record for racing or breeding.
