Ffos Las have changed three races on next Tuesday's card in order to spare their round course from further action.

The Welsh track raced on heavy ground on Tuesday and with their next meeting scheduled just seven days later, clerk of the course Tim Long has taken the decision to use just the sprint track.

That will result in distance changes for three races, with details yet to be confirmed.

Long said on Wednesday: "We raced yesterday on heavy ground and the round course has taken a bit of a pounding, which was not helped by a lot of rain overnight.

"I just thought with rain still forecast over the next couple of days, the track would need longer than seven days to recover and we should leave it until our meeting on August 2. We have had a foot of rain since June 1, which really puts it into perspective, and we were perhaps a bit lucky to race yesterday."

Leicester have called off three races scheduled for next Wednesday's fixture in a bid to get the meeting on.

The track have been unable to race since early June due to the amount of rain that has fallen, but the improved forecast for coming days has raised a glimmer of hope for clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson.

In light of that, the decision has been taken to change the distances of three races due to be run over six and seven furlongs.

Stevenson said: "The races over six and seven will now be run over five furlongs or on the round course. We haven't seen any real improvement today, but we are hopeful as the forecast is for better weather from Friday, which is why we have taken this decision now."
