Native Khan could make his third appearance for John Oxx in next Thursday's Desmond Stakes at Leopardstown.

Third behind Frankel in last year's 2000 Guineas, the grey was moved from Ed Dunlop to Oxx this season and has been roundly beaten by Famous Name on both occasions.

Oxx withdrew Native Khan from another match with the same horse in Sunday's Royal Whip Stakes and said: "I didn't want him running on soft ground again as I don't think he likes it."

He added: "I had to run him on it the first time at the Curragh as I just needed to get him out but he didn't progress as much as I expected next time at Leopardstown.

"I think it will just take him a few races to get him back, and if the ground is suitable he might go for the Desmond Stakes."
