With a great many players, managers and Club owners involved in horseracing, it was a natural progression for us to get involved in sports publishing for the 'beautiful game'. One such club we have strong links to, as well as being our leading local Club, is Northampton Town FC.
Northampton Town FC Programme - ‘The Cobbler’
Weatherbys Print are involved in much more than just horseracing, we are involved in an array of sports such as Football, Cricket and Rugby.
Northampton Town Football Club are an NPower Division 2 Football club who are situated only 15 miles from our offices. We produce all of the league home programmes, currently 23, plus any other cup or pre-season issues that may be required throughout the course of a season. Quantities range from just 800 copies upto 1,500 and are generally a 64 page self-cover, full colour programme.
Working closely with our contacts at the club, the design and content of the brochure is decided upon in the close season. On all of our programmes, we offer a free-design service.
The ‘Cobbler’ is produced over a two-day period, and all of the pages are proofed back to the client for acceptance. The printing of the programme ensures that delivery takes place on Matchday, or as required by the client.
We are extremely proud of ‘The Cobbler’ as it has now won The Northern Programme Club Football League Two Programme of the Year for the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons.
The Cobbler reviewed in Programme Monthly
The match day programme was reviewed in the February 2011 Issue of 'Programme Monthly', the regular magazine for collectors of football programmes. The review read:
“This is a very distinctive and strikingly designed programme from the Cobblers. It is a busy issue, packed with information, features and adverts with commendably small printing making up for any space constraints. Refreshingly different and distinctive, with a good variety of contributors and a distinctive style."
Other Print Work for NTFC
Our work doesn’t stop with the programme. Many other items are produced for the club, including posters, a variety of application forms, general stationery items, matchday draw tickets and a number of other items linked to the Football in the Community programme.
