MIDSUMMER SUN, a half-brother to top-class middle distance filly Midday, won on his seasonal reappearance at Lingfield earlier in the month and, in the hope he's developed some new found consistency, is nominated to follow up in this conditions contest and maintain his unbeaten record over this trip. Ibicenco warrants respect due to the framing of the weights as he was Pattern-placed in Germany last year. However, he's returning from a break today and might have to settle for a supporting role. A market move for Barney Curley's Steuben - another German import returning from a layoff - would be noteworthy.
