Race Verdict

Plenty of chances in an open renewal but MAYSON has already scored here this term when winning most decisively in the Abernant Stakes over a furlong further. Admittedly, his best form has come over six furlongs but that latest victory suggested that he'll be more than sharp enough here, especially with the cut in the ground being in his favour. Margot Did hasn't sparkled since landing an historic Nunthorpe for Hayley Turner and is best watched for now and Night Carnation, likely to come late off a guaranteed fast pace, is preferred as the danger to the selection. Hamish McGonagall is thoroughly tough and consistent whilst Temple Meads is interesting on the back of a lengthy lay-off.

Selection: Mayson        Danger: Night Carnation        Alternative: Hamish McGonagall
