Race Verdict

BALLESTEROS scored in the style of a sprinter with plenty more to come at Chester and the son of Tomba is greatly favoured by race conditions. He was five lengths clear of Dam Beautiful on the Roodee yet is 5lb better off now. He should complete his hat-trick with something to spare. Dam Beautiful probably found conditions too testing that day but it's hard to create an argument which says he can turn the form around, although a better run is expected on this quicker surface. He should vie for the runner-up spot with the reliable Free Zone.

Selection: Ballesteros        Danger: Free Zone        Alternative: Dam Beautiful
