Race Verdict

Susan Gardner fires a double salvo with recent point-to-point scorer Jewellery and C&D winner SOUTHWAY STAR. The latter escapes a penalty for a smooth success in a conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle at Worcester last time and has become a fine servant for her yard with four successes in her last nine outings. Trip and ground suit and she's narrowly preferred to Behtarini, equally impressive last time when hacking up here. He has obvious claims despite a 7lb penalty and rates a major threat. Irish import Millenarys Lady is worth a market check on his first run for David Rees.
