Race Verdict

VEILED is 7lb higher than when winning this race last year but the 6-y-o did it in comfortable fashion 12 months ago and looks a safe bet to lay down another bold bid in a typically competitive renewal. Simenon returns to the Flat having done well over hurdles for Willie Mullins through the winter and the booking of Ryan Moore certainly takes the eye, while Fiulin is another who bids to continue the fine run jumps trainers have enjoyed in this event over the years. Cosimo De Medici should be ideally suited by this type of test and looks to have been laid out for the race, while Monterey impressed when winning at Newmarket recently and is another to keep on the right side of given his lightly-raced profile.

Selection: Veiled        Danger: Cosimo De Medici        Alternative: Simenon
