Race Verdict

Qaraaba got going all too late at Ascot last month and can be marked up for the run, but she's bidding to gain compensation outside of handicap company today and preference, therefore, is for POET. Clive Cox's dual Group 3 winner is at his best on soft ground over 1m2f - conditions he's granted today. The prospect of an easy lead heightens his appeal further and if Eddie Ahern can time his fractions correctly, he could take some passing. Expense Claim is still improving and is also considered for top spot.

Selection: Poet        Danger: Qaraaba        Alternative: Expense Claim
