Race Verdict

BATTLECAT is better than his latest finishing position suggests when fourth at Hereford behind the useful Cape Express, having gone in snatches before staying on nicely. He was always in control when scoring previously at Newton Abbot and showed his ability to handle soft ground when hunting up Turn Over Sivola at Plumpton in May. Kellys Brow looks best watched at present despite top-notch connections and Bestwecan, a Flat winner for Mark Johnston, looms as a bigger danger on his jumping bow.

Selection: Battlecat        Danger: Bestwecan        Alternative: Kellys Brow
