Administrative Services

We also offer Administrative services for a number of organisations including the IFHA (below), Yearling Bonus Scheme (below), the Thoroughbred Breeders Association and Levy Board.

International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA)
The Racing Division provides support services to IFHA’s Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) – an international forum for administrators from the major Racing and Stud Book Authorities. The Committee meets annually, in Paris on the Friday of Arc weekend, but there is much liaison during the year.

TAC is responsible for managing the International Agreement on Racing, Breeding and Wagering; a ‘best practice’ document that is an important tool in ensuring that the wheels of international competition are well oiled in what is an increasingly global sport. Recent subjects tackled include the system for ensuring the traceability of horses travelling abroad for racing, breeding or other purposes and international reciprocity of disciplinary and licensing measures. TAC also maintains the List of Internationally Protected Names.

Any enquiries on international matters should be forwarded to TAC Secretary Paul Palmer.

Yearling Bonus Scheme
The Yearling Bonus Scheme began in 2009 as a self-help initiative in order to stimulate Yearling Bloodstock Sales in this difficult financial climate. Since its inception, initial registration and continued eligibility has been processed by Weatherbys on behalf of the scheme.

Owners of eligible racehorses stand the chance of winning an additional £10,000 if their horse wins an allocated YBS race.
